Picture day!

Alivia had her school pictures today, and I went out to the backyard to get some shots as well.  She still enjoys going to school, but seems quite interested in Ridgewood Elementary.  I think she wants to be with her brother.

All Smiles!

Summer was full of smiles from day one, but now it’s for real!  Of course, I can’t get her in a full grin, but I’ve managed to get a few happy shots.  She looks so much like her brother and her cousin Charlie!  What a doll.

Soccer Up!

IMG_2857e

Addison is now playing U8 with three players to his side and a goalie.  I like this arrangement as it feels more like soccer than the little kid version.  He prefers it too and has as much enthusiasm as ever.  He’s even playing on Friday night clinics.  Addison started his season with a bang: 6 goals!  He’s working on his cuts and his shots.  So far we haven’t been in mud, but soon he’ll be playing mud soccer with the rainy October weather.   Go team Spies!

The boys were quite excited to jump in and cool off.IMG_2551 IMG_2550 IMG_2554 Ashley enjoyed dipping her feet after an adventurous morning hunting water bugs!  They earned a penny for each bug caught!  Waterbugs are now named Pennybugs.

What a fun family reunion at my aunt Kareen’s house in Bend, OR!  We all enjoyed getting together to play, swim, float, fish, and golf.  It was a wonderful time for the cousins to get together and spend some time together.  The boys had a fun fishing morning, and we all spent an afternoon floating the river.  Inside, Grammy had fun holding Summer and watching all of the hullabaloo!

My Mom

We wish Mom were still here to watch Alivia be pulled in the sled during our winter excursions in the Cascades. We miss her when we're playing: Stick Out Your Tongue When Dad Says, "Cheese!" with the new camera. I ache that she can't watch Alivia and Adison grow up. But we know her love stays with us and that Addison knows Nonni Angel will keep the bad dreams away every night.
